Acadia Vineyards encompasses 23 acres of organic wine grapes and approximately 50 acres of organic pears. Vineyards planted in 1996, certified organic since 2008. We grow Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner, Gewurtraminer, and Pinot Blanc. Our cool climate and volcanic soils make our vineyard ideally suited to growing old world style wines with strong acids and pure fruit flavors. Located on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge in Underwood at 1000 feet of elevation.
Celilo Vineyards was planted on Underwood Mountain in 1972, most vines are 40 years old.
The deep-rooted vines bring a mineral characteristic to Celilo's wines along with a higher acidity. At an elevation 800 to 1100 feet, the vineyard is considered sub-alpine, sitting on a cusp of wetter maritime weather to the west and the desert to the east.
An annual rainfall of 50 inches percolates into vineyard's grainy "buckshot" sized volcanic loam. Soils from the extinct volcano cone of Underwood Mountain can be as deep as 45 feet and retain moisture well, allowing Celilo Vineyards to survive without irrigation.
Due to the soil the flavors that come through the grapes is "minerally" and intense.
Today Celilo Vineyards encompasses 74 acres of wine grapes, growing:
Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Gruner Veltliner, Lemberger, Muller-Thurgau.
Bridget Bailey Nisley, The Dalles, Oregon
Hi Valley Vineyard is located at 3410 Dry Hollow Lane, three miles South of The Dalles, Oregon. The 15 acre planting consists of 8 acres of Merlot and 7 acres of Syrah. The vineyard was planted in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Our consulting sales agent, Lonnie Wright, can be reached at 541-993-0062.
Planted in 2004 on a high, cobbly terrace overlooking the Columbia River, this terroir is expressed through an array of grape varieties including Cabernet franc, Primitivo, Barbera, Chenin blanc, Gamay noir, Dolcetto, and Sauvignon blanc. Farmed from the soil, up; certified organic. 8 acres presently in vines.
Underwood, WA | 541-490-1674
With pure southern exposure, gentle southeastern slope, and the Columbia River maritime influence, Lamonti Vineyards creates unusually complex Gewurztrminer, Pinot Gris and Tempranillo grapes. Located at the western end of the Columbia Gorge AVA on Underwood Mountain, the combination of quality soils, cool evenings and warming sun, result in that special, clean, crisp quality product.
Thomas and Marlene Woodward | Husum, Washington
Our organically farmed ten acre vineyard is perched high on the eastern slopes of
the White Salmon Valley. Located at 1400 feet, facing south towards Mt. Hood, the
vineyard is bathed in just enough sunlight to bring out the spicy, concentrated flavors of
the classic cool weather varietals -- gewürztraminer, pinot noir, and chardonnay. It is
an example of a site perfectly suited to the varietals planted. Grapes from Oak Ridge
Vineyard can be enjoyed in wines made by Analemma and Viento in the Columbia
Gorge and Brooks and Bethel Heights in the Eola Hills of Oregon.

Our vineyard, located high above the beautiful Columbia River Gorge is at the farthest point west of the Columbia Gorge Wine Appellation. Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner varietals as well as organic pears on approximately 18 acres bask in the hot summer sun with cool nights on south facing slopes. Our first harvest (2012) produced some delicious wines including a Gruner Veltliner by Sineann, 'combining flavors of spicy stone fruits with white pepper and citrus qualities.' Our winemakers were very pleased!
Named for the intense wild fire of 2003 that swept over our irrigated ground and incinerated nearly every plant on dry ground. The headline read “ Vineyard Saved” and the aerial sure looks like the hand of God rested over us on that day.
The Columbia River is a huge moderator for our vineyard. “The best grapes see the River” is the old maxim and every vine has an incredible river and mountain view on Scorched Earth. The nearly constant west winds from Columbia Reach and the sloping southern exposure nestled within a natural rain shadow give us safety from extremes of heat and cold. We can grow the warm varieties of Syrah, Zinfandel and Grenache because we have the earliest bud break and harvest with ripening numbers that add up to great wine. We are fortunate to live on this beautiful land and to have Lonnie Wright manage the Vineyards for us.

Volcano Ridge Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA produces Zinfandel, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir grapes to sell to commercial wineries. Soil scientist and geologist Alan Busacca and viticulturist Lonnie Wright carved the vineyard, with 25 bearing acres today, out of 160 acres of steep canyon lands on soils formed from ancient volcanic mudflows. Plantings extend up to 1300 feet, coaxing great flavor expression out of each variety and placing the vineyards above damaging winter freezes.
